To apply for a position with Venners Limited as a licensed trade Stock
Auditor you need to be numerate and literate and preferably have a background in
the licensed trade. You also need to hold a current clean U.K. driving licence,
be able to communicate with people at different levels and be of smart
appearance.
Stocktaking experience is preferable but not necessary as intensive training
will be given to enable you to meet our very high standards. Look at current
vacancies for positions available but check first why you should work with us
and our equal opportunities policy.
The completion of part two of the application form is voluntary but we
appreciate it when candidates take the time and trouble to do so because the
information it contains helps us to monitor and improve our equal opportunities
policies and procedures. This form is detached from the application form on
receipt or e-mailed separately and is kept separated until after decisions are
made in relation to short listing candidates, thus ensuring all such decisions
are based purely on merit.
Equal Opportunities..
The policy and practice of Venners Limited require that all staff are
afforded equal opportunities within employment and that entry into employment
with the company and progression within employment will be determined only by
personal merit and the application of criteria which are related to the duties
of each particular post and the relevant salary structure.
In all cases, ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration.
Subject to statutory provisions, no applicant or member of staff will be treated
less favourably than another because of his or her sex, marital status, sexual
orientation, racial group or disability.
The company welcomes diversity amongst its staff and seeks to ensure that all
candidates for employment are treated fairly, and that selection is based solely
on the individual merits of candidates and on selection criteria relevant to the
post.
Why work with us?..
Venners Limited is the UK’s leading licensed trade stocktake and audit
company. Our training is widely recognised to be the best in the licensed trade
which means that a Venners trained stocktaker can cope with the very highest
level of specification demanded by today’s clients. In addition the great
diversity of our customers means that you see a variety of operational
businesses and styles.
At Venners we do not subcontract work or deal in franchises and all employees
are fully contracted to us. We also expect people to work reasonably locally
most of the time but of course there are times when we will ask our staff to
travel in order to cope with customer demands.
We offer a competitive salary package and will provide a company car or a
mileage payment for use of your own vehicle. Authorised expenses are naturally
also reimbursed. The current average level of service for a Venners stocktaker
is 14 years, when you consider that we employ approximately 150 stocktakers
nationwide that represents a good level of satisfaction amongst our employees.
Many people in the trade chose stocktaking as the next stage of their career as
it represents a good way of staying in the hospitality arena without the excess
demands on time, whilst stocktaking is never a 9-5 operation the hours are much
more predictable.
